Micro finance was introduced as a programmatic intervention of PBK in 1993. In 1995 PKSF started financing PBK’s rural micro credit program till to date. It has two fold objectives: to enhance sustainability of the beneficiaries as well as the organization with the initial funding of Oxfam America & PKSF. PBK also made an agreement with PKSF with 25 loan agreements and a loan commitment of Tk. 12,84,36,495 Taka and received 11,24,36,495 taka. Taka 4,53,46,570 is Principal amount and Tk. 46,13,656.13 total of Tk. 4,99,60,226 so far PBK repaid to PKSF and 7,13,75,237.13 yet to be paid to PKSF. PKSF provide loan @ 4.5% service charge and also give 6 month’s grace period. It is to be noted that PKSF also provided 2 million taka loan to implement agro base micro credit of PBK. In addition to its standard micro credit lending for income generation.

PBK has been offering a specialized program of consumer household credit for the hard core & very poor with the production & distribution of mosquito net, Quilts, mattresses, RCC pillars & furniture. These items supplied in response to the expressed need of the hard-core poor.
